The best thing I've heard all year...

...is definitely the Roky Erickson set. And I haven't even listened to the second disc yet. That's how fucking incredibly good it is. It's allowed me to view the 13th Floor Elevators in an entirely new light and introduced me to the highlights of Roky's solo career. That dude battled darkness in a way no one else ever has.
I can honestly say it's changed my life.

Kochalka

Christ, I've been bad at updating this thing. It's been a wild ride these past few weeks. Madness pretty much everywhere.
Anyway, reviewing the new collection from VT's James Kochalka, who is now signed to Rykodisc. Well done, man. Good to see him getting some rock recognition. It'll run in Seven Days next week.
